Report from NSW State Relays - 17 November '07

On a warm spring Saturday morning, the men's 1500m 160+ team of Davids McAnally & Hardyman, Paul 'taper' McGuire and the 'baby' of the team Adam Paleg debuting in his first 1500m.

David McAnally, who whenever he runs 1500m claims he hasn't run the distance since Little Athletics, ran 1st leg in a time of 4:38*, followed by david the quiet one in no. 2 leg in 5:07*, Paul in 5:16* and young Adam bringing the team home in 5th place in a finishing time of 19:38 (4.37* split for Adam).

All 4 managed the changeover smoothly and ran reasonably even, well paced laps, with the possible exception of Adam who clearly had plenty left in the bank for a fast final lap.

The Athletics East running/filming talents were switched for the day with Matt Hammond behind the camera. Watch this space for upcoming video footage!

Well done boys!

* note all split performances approx., Rona was timing.
